This weekend we had the pleasure to spend our time up in Bala with some great friends and family. Bala is famous for it’s Cranberry’s and this weekend was the annual Cranberry Festival. We invited Craig and Desi up to Bala to experience everything Bala and the festival have to offer.
Friday night was spent down at the water with a roaring campfire and a couple of beers. At about 2330hrs our guests finally arrived to our little town. They were greeted by a crew eager for their arrival. Parker was especially happy because his new best friend Beckham was coming to play with him. Oh there were a couple of cold beers to help end the journey in proper fashion.
Saturday morning was an early morning. We packed the car with the shotguns, clay birds, shells, and coffee. Desi and Amy have never had the pleasure to shoot shotguns so after a brief safety lesson and Craig as “safety staff” we were locked and loaded.
At the sand pit we were accompanied by Chad, Brett and my two nephews Colby and Emmett. Brett and Chad both brought their guns and some shells for us to shoot. We had about 200 rounds and 135 “birds”. Sadly if we were hunting for survival Brett would be the only one eating. We all had success with shooting but Brett was obviously the more seasoned shooter. After a quick clean up we returned to town. A stop at the Beer Store and the conditions were perfect for a fun filled day. We began the journey across town to see the booths that were set up trying to sell us their wares. The men were successful in avoiding the Sirens of the booths but not the Legion Beer Tent.

Home for some supper, a quick change into warmer clothes we headed to the Bala Bay Inn for some local festive cheer. Chad volunteered to stay home and attend to Indio’s every whim and want, while Jasmine came out to play. We were successful in getting Jazz to let loose and have some fun.
Chad was happy we eventually returned to the house. Indio asleep the fire was started up again and we began to enjoy its warmth and each others company.
Sunday morning came early. Too early if you ask me. A long car ride home and Parker totally exhausted from all the swimming and playing.
Thanks everyone!
